Unlearning
The concept of the new work is based on the idea of “Unlearning”, the Bauhaus pedagogical style, and material and process explorations. “questioning assumptions and creating new things. To adapt to the changing world, there are ideas we’ll need to ‘unlearn’ – things we might have been taught that could be outdated, too rigid, or comfortable but stuck” There is a large element of the unknown in this work, as selection of subject matter will be mainly by chance. I find this lack of control both terrifying and exciting.
