Present Pasts
A recounting of traumatic memory of violent deaths during the conflict in Northern Ireland. Exploring connections between event, memory and the present. Traumatic memory can be difficult to articulate and in my work I try to represent this by using existing or constructing unique sculptural languages. The pieces contain an excerpt from a recounting of a violent death and a statement from a person with PTSD. These memories are realised in embossed paper works, etched copper and sculptural language in rope.
