Nexus A Social Sculpture
This work is based on the paradigm of the social sculpture as advocated by Joseph Beuys. This work has the potential to transform or shape emotional, intellectual and social connections of the participants and Artist. The simple act of taking part in the work by adding words to the blog changes the dynamics and structure of the online society, by engaging with ‘others’ words that have emotional and or intellectual significance to the individual participant. The work strives to structure and shape society by inviting others to participate in creating emotional, intellectual and social connections. The physical installation created by the Artist will shape the environment in which it is placed, and conversely the environment will have an impact on the structure of the installation.
