A few examples of handmade books that I have made, some made seem unusual. The first is ‘Remember When’ a project I devised using photographs as the catalyst for remembering a certain time. Digital printed concertina book format in a handmade velum envelope.
This book is actually a set of boxes each box contains one photograph. The object of these books is to ensure that it is uncomfortable for the viewer to look at the image. For my degree exhibition, ‘Can you see me”
This next book is a traditional format, but rather large. It contains six portraits made using the traditional Intaglio process using copper plates and ink. “Can you see me” large format book.
This next book may seem very unusual to you, it is made up of the ashes of some of my degree show prints and photographs, so in effect it cannot be read in it’s original form. “In Memoriam Alice Burns” A statement of the 15 minutes of fame.
